About Me
Hello and welcome. I'm Lucas Maciel, author and creator of Mobile West.
I've held many different roles in IT including, most recently, iOS Staff Enginner
at iFood.
For a full and updated résumé, please see my Linkedin page.
In addition to my technical background, I've already been children's teacher and also presented a handful of "shows" with my friend's band at my high school years, playing both the guitar and bass.
When not working, writing mobile apps at scale in pursuit of solving customer challenges, I can often be found talking about carrer, life and teaching something new to my colleges and other devs.
For those who like psychological traits, I'm an absolute Sanguine and ENTP. Therefore, if it's the first time we talk you may find my a little too objetive and pragmactic. But after that you'll probably see yourself joining the discussion and helping the group to find the best solution to a problem.

About the Blog
This blog has an objective of helping people who already have a solid foundation on mobile technologies on taking the next step.
What you should NOT
expect from this blog:
- Ready-to-use recipes of little task like changing a color of a view
- Articles similar to "Your first project on Android / iOS".
I truly believe there are a bunch of resourceful people out there who already have those things covered on their own blogs. So, as a pragmatic developer, you should reuse their code.
About the name
Why WEST? Well, I can think about two reasons. The first is that I really like those Wild West
movies. Usually in this kind of movie there is no whining. The characters have to react fast, they have to be precise and have to think very well on each of their decisions.
The second reason is that I have a somehow affective memory of times I was a child and spent the afternoon listening music with my parents. And one of those music were the famous "Go West", which in the chorus used to say:
1(Go west) life is peaceful there
2(Go west) where the skies are blue
3(Go west) this is what we're gonna do
4
5(Together) we will learn and teach
6(Together) change our pace of life
7(Together) we will work and strive
Those are words I belive help define the teamwork spirit of someone who are sincerely seeking to help, teach and be successful in group.
